The Million Dollar View byway emerges above open plains and lakes along US Route 1. You will enjoy panoramic vistas, some of Maine's premiere lakes for fishing, sailing, wildlife and bird watching. The St. John Valley/Fish River National Scenic Byway
Formerly known as the Fish River Scenic Byway and St. John Valley Cultural Byway the new National Scenic byway combines the two to created a unique traveling experience. The corridor is 129 miles long and includes the towns of Fort Kent, Madawaska, Van Buren, Wallagrass, Eagle Lake, Winterville, and Portage Lake. Voici the Valley Cultureway
This eighty mile cultural driving tour, shaped like a figure eight loop, brings you through the beautiful St. John River Valley and is broken into two individual driving tours, named the Down and Up River sections.
