Southern Aroostook

Serving as The Gateway to the Crown of Maine, Southern Aroostook is home to some of the most scenic views the region has to offer. When entering from the south, if you want to see the most breath taking views of Mount Katahdin drive to the County up I 95 or the Route 11 Grindstone Scenic Byway. Traveling along US Rt. 1 you will experience the Million Dollar View scenic byway whose name will not disappoint as you look into neighboring Canada. Houlton serves as Aroostook's County Seat and the architecture of its historic downtown with its businesses, art galleries and restaurants will capture your imagination.
