Fish River Scenic Byway

Formerly known as the Route 11 Scenic Byway this is a unique traveling experience. The corridor is 38 miles (61 Km) long and includes the towns of Fort Kent, Wallagrass, Eagle Lake, Winterville, and Portage Lake. You will not face crowds, congestion and development in this rural corner of the state. Instead, you will enjoy panoramic vistas, some of Maine's premiere lakes for fishing, sailing, wildlife and bird watching, and the pastoral beauty of a "working byway" that supports agricultural and forest industries. When visiting the region, talk to the locals and listen to the stories about this byway's role in the Fish River Valley's past, present, and future.
