International Appalachian Trail – A significant portion of this extension to the Appalachian Trail runs through Aroostook County. Hike some or the entire trail starting atop Mt. Katahdin in Baxter State Park. On your way, cross Mt. Chase and Mars Hill Mountain. As a shorter alternative hike, try the new 22 miles of trails around Mars Hill Mountain that have recently been constructed for the trail.

Deboullie Mountain – A moderate hike is a total of 6 miles round trip up to the top of this low rugged mountain. The area is surrounded by small lakes and ponds and offers connecting trails to some of the other small mountains in the area.
