The economic impact of tourism and visitation to Maine and Aroostook County make it third largest industry in the region behind forestry and agriculture. In 2025 visitors spent $170,473,600 dollars in the region that made an economic impact of $251,214,200. This was up 1.9% as compared to the same period in 2024. For 2025, visitation to The County was down 2.5% (292,700 total visitors counted) while overall tourism to Maine was down 4.4%. 47.2% of all visitors to Aroostook County came from Maine while 82% of visitors came from just 13 Canadian Providences and U.S. States.

Tourism is a growing industry in Maine's Aroostook County and there is not part of the economy that is not affected by tourism and leisure travel.
