All aboard for a great cause! Experience the first colors of fall in New England aboard a scenic train ride through the St. John Valley on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Maine Northern Railway is generously providing the train and crew for this special event, with all proceeds from ticket sales benefiting the Aroostook House of Comfort.
Departing from the Fort Kent Rail Station on Dube Street in Fort Kent, Maine, passengers can choose from two 90-minute excursions. The 9:00 to 10:30 AM ride travels south toward Soldier Pond, while the 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM ride heads north toward Madawaska. Enjoy the changing colors of the forest and the beautiful landscapes of northern Maine while supporting an important cause.
Tickets are $30 per passenger and go on sale September 10 at 9:00 AM. All passengers, including young children riding on laps, require a ticket. The ticket link will be shared by the Aroostook Hospice Foundation when sales open, and seats are expected to sell quickly.
The event is hosted with the help of United Way of Aroostook volunteers. Train cars have stairs and no ramps or lifts, although railway staff are experienced in assisting passengers with mobility needs. Three cars will be available, each equipped with a restroom.
